The Response - Al-Qur'an

What did the the servant ask of his/her Lord in the Opening Chapter of Surah Al-Faatihah?

He/she asked for Help and Guidance upon The Straight Path.

What was Allah’s response to this plea?

It’s the revelation of the the rest of The Qur’an, which contains The Gift of Guidance.

The ayat (verses) 1-5 of Chapter 2: Surah Al-Baqarah state...

1. Alif Lam Mim*

2. This is The Book, within it there is no doubt, [The Gift of] Guidance for the God-conscious,

3. Who believe in the unseen, and establish the prayer, and give out of what We have provided for them;

4. And those who believe in the revelation sent down to you [Muhammad], and in what was sent before you, those who have firm certainty in the Hereafter.

5. those are on Guidance from their Lord and those are the successful ones.

This is why it is so important to read The Qur'an in a language we each understand, for the Guidance needs to be recited in Arabic and then read in comprehensible language, understood, contemplated and implemented in our lives in a practical, organic, wholesome, holistic manner because then it will light up our lives, our families, our communities, and the geographical spaces we call home.
