Abuse Thrives in Secrecy
Every woman has a fundamental need to feel safe in her home, with her companions, and within her body. Periodically check in with your daughter and ask her if she feels safe in every setting that is part of her life. If she doesn't, reach out a strong hand and pull her out, no matter the consequences. Sadly, sometimes when people tell us they don't feel safe, we don't believe them and convince them to stay for the sake of appearances. It takes a lot to reach out for help. The least we can do is listen and lend a helping hand. It is truly better to come home from a broken marriage, than it is to come home in a coffin.
Abuse thrives in secrecy. Don't let it happen to your daughter.
