What Happened to You?

This is an excellent book. It offers deep insights to 'What Happened to You?: Conversations on Trauma, Resilience and Healing'.

It's not a an easy read but it is a necessary read. We all have an obligation to do our part to help ourselves, our children, and the people we care about in the community.

As we read this book, a lot will be unearthed about our inner self. I recommend journaling along with the book to process that which comes forth.

These are the two main premises of the book

1. Most healing happens in community (outside of therapy) and how 'therapeutic moments' with highly regulated people can help recalibrate those who have undergone trauma and are dysregulated.

2. 'Attentive, attuned and responsive caregiving’ is the key to both healing and in creating new healthy regulatory neural networks in the brain and the traumatised nervous system.

This book is a valuable resource for everyone's healing journey. When we work on our own healing, we can help others on their healing journeys. There are so many people carrying so much pain out there in the turbulent world we live in. We can help one heart at a time, with the right intention.
